We shopped at Robinsons Galleria, and we [the fashion models] were divided into several groups. The groups were given an hour to look and to buy our own outfit while being assisted by my older sister Marla who was the main stylist for the event. Since there were some elementary kids with us too, we [the high schoolers] were the last ones to go shop, though we were allowed to go around the mall and if possible, find a certain clothing and point it out later on when it's our turn. So yeah, the most fun times was when during we were strolling around the mall while waiting for our turns .

A School Fashionista Trip, As We Like To Call This.
MY school's fashion trip to Manila last weekend to shop for an outfit for the upcoming instructional fashion show was super fun! It's sorta like a class field trip only better, and it was only the 31 selected students from my school (inlcuding me) plus a few teachers and parents as chaperones. I still can't believe that I'm one of the lucky chosen ones out of the many high school girls in our school, and I feel truly blessed and grateful!

Two Zero One One List
I know it's been a week since 2011began, so it's a bit late to start a sort-of itinerary for the year. But, oh well, better late than never right? Yeah, well, I actually wrote down on my resolution list that, aside from losing ten pounds and be more of a morning person, I plan on being more organized but learn to go with the flow sometimes too. On our first day back from Christmas vacation, our class adviser has announced some exciting events that will be happening for the three remaining months of the school year, and if that's not a sign that my 2011 is off to a great start, I don't know what it is. Anyway, for every month for this year, I want to be able to fullfill all the things that I will be writing down on this entry.
JANUARY. Make the most out of my school's 20th foundation anniversary week-long celebration.
There's going to be a motorcade, Teacher's Day presentation, and even a FASHION SHOW for the first day. I feel so privileged to be chosen as one of the ramp models for the instructional fashion show out of the five students for every batch. Me and the other chosen models are going to Manila this weekend to go shopping for our outfits to wear. I didn't expect this one at all and I bet it's gonna sooo much fun! On the last day of the school foundation anniversary, we junior students along with the seniors are going to do a variety class presentation during the morning, and then there's the super-fun fun booths during the afternoon. I'm going to be a drummer for some of the songs that the class band will be playing and I'm also going to do a sort-of Kris Aquino impersonation for one of the comedy-commercials. During the previous years, there were a few different booths held, and I hope that they'll add up more ones for this year. I've got my fingers crossed for all these events!
FEBRUARY. Have a great time at the school field trip and at the junior-senior prom.
So yes, the fun doesn't end in January. We're going to Clark Field, Pampanga for this year's educational tour and one of the place-events we're going to see is the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. The first time that I've been there was just last year and it was really something, so I guess I'll have a more fun time for this year because, well, it's a field trip and field trip isn't complete without crazy busmates right? Haha! As for my first-ever prom, well, like most girls my age, it's the one of the nights that I've really been looking forward to since I was, like, nine years old. I can't believe how fast time passes by; now, only a month to go before prom night. Last Wednesday, my mother took me to her trusted couturier to get my prom gown started, and I was like, "Ehmagawd, am I really gonna go to prom next month?" The only irony of this situation? Weeell, I still don't have a prom date. It's mostly my fault, actually, because I was a bit too choosy, so yeah, you get the picture. Wish me luck for that one! But still, that's not gonna stop me from being excited for prom night.
MARCH. Ace my finals and enjoy the last few days of junior year.
I'll be frank with all of you: this school year has been a total rollercoaster ride for me. So far, I've had my fair share of both good times and horrible times, but I also learned a lot from my experiences, that's for sure. To end it clean and end it well, I want to get high scores for my final exams and to be able to make good memories for the remaining days as a junior. So that when summer comes, I won't be worrying about any drama until maybe on June.
APRIL. Hellooo Summer!
I don't care if it's the time when it's so hot your ice cream easily melts within one minute after buying it and you start sweating only a few seconds after taking a shower. Haha! I love that you can mess up your sleep pattern without worrying that you might end up wakingup late on Monday at this time of year. For this summer, I want to go visit another country if possible, like, to visit my relatives in California, hopefully if my parents' schedules aren't so busy. Or perhaps get a summer job at my older brother's coffee shop? I love how the possibilities are almost endlessly exciting during summer!
Okayy. Well, that's just part one for my 2011 Monthly Plan List. Watch for the next one, where I will be doing May, June, July, and August! ;)

F I N A L L Y.
Hey to my dear readers!
It's been, like, a month since I've updated this blog and I'd really like to apologize for neglecting it, especially during the Christmas season. I guess now that it's a new year, I'd like to make a resolution to update this blog more often and to improve it also.
Anyway, I'd like to make it up to you all by posting even more exciting and interesting entries than the previous ones I wrote. This week, I've just received some exciting news for certain events and I promise to keep ya'll posted. So yes, I suppose this would be my top resolution for the year 2011. Wish me luck! ;)

Apples Prints and Not-So-Average Wizard Flicks
Okay, just wanna say that I had so much time bonding with my family this weekend! I haven't seen my older siblings [who live in Manila] since Halloween, because I've been so busy due to the film-making workshops for the last few weekends that I had to stay in San Jose to attend meetings and workshops and contests. To celebrate my older sister Marla's birthday, which was like last week actually, we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati for the weekend, had dinner and went shopping at Glorietta 5 (which is just across InterCon) on Saturday night, and then watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Rockwell on Sunday night.
Anyway, here are some of the photos I've taken. ;)
Anyway, here are some of the photos I've taken. ;)
We had pasta and pizza for late lunch and then gelato for desert at the Amici branch across the Don Bosco Printing Press in Makati.
Stolen shot of the birthday girl Marla. Hehe!
My nephew Cisco eating vanilla gelato. The guy in red is my older bro Marty.
My little bro Macu looking outside, I don't at what, though.
The view from our room. Just on the other side of the pool deck is the ever-busy streets of EDSA.
Apple-print empire-cut Bayo blouse, Forever 21 tank top [worn underneath], Forme shorts, ShoeBox ballet flats, && Ardene's bangles.
I really like the apple print design on this blouse and how it's both casual yet cute enough to wear to the mall.
Goofing out with Macu before bedtime. I love this kid!
Some shots of some of the food and other stuff during breakfast at the hotel buffet:
PB & Blueberry jam; PB & mango jam
Sushi for breakfast. I was like, "I love this buffet!" Haha!
Scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon bits, just how I want 'em to be.
My daddy with his grandson Cisco.
Some of the last few shots I took before we left:
Mango blazer, Bayo top, Lucky Brand skinny jeans, SM Department Store wedges, Nine West sling bag, && Freeway Ramon Valera Collection necklace.
This was given to be by Marla, when she attended the collection launch. Freeway is one of her favorite Filipino fashion boutiques, and Ramon Valera is one of the country's National Artists, by the way. ;)
PS: Three of my outfit shots were taken by Macu. I'm kinda impressed that they're not at all blurry. Pretty good for an eleven-year-old kid, don't you think? :D
And also, I totally loooved the latest Harry Potter film. I've been a fan of the series (both books and movies) since I first saw the first film when I was only six years old, and I totally agree with most of the readers who claimed that this HP film is the most loyal-to-the-book yet. Can't wait for the next (and last! :( ) one, which will be released next year, which also means I still have eight months to re-read the Deathly Hallows book as a sort-of refresher course. J.K Rowling, you're truly a LEGEND. :D

Spell F-O-O-D
Okay, so this is, like, my first-ever blog entry about food. If you're asking why, it's probably because of the fact that I have no idea how to cook anything aside from rice, instant noodles, eggs, and the occasional pancakes (well, technically, for that last one, I just assist my mom whenever she makes them for breakfast). So yeah, you could say that I'm a teenage girl with very limited knowledge in culinary arts. I may be A TOTAL FOODIE (which makes dieting and losing weight very very very hard), but when it comes to making food instead of just eating them, I'm totally lost. Believe me, I wish I could learn to whip up even just the basics like hotdogs, bacons, and maybe even soup dishes (the canned ones don't count, okay?) before I graduate high school and go off to college. But, oh well, I guess I'd have to find some time to learn, hopefully during Christmas vacation while helping my mom whip up some of her recipes for Noche Buena in December, which is what we Filipinos call the traditional after-dinner Christmas Eve meal. But anyway...
Today was actually a national non-working holiday in the Philippines, because it's the end of Ramadan season for the Muslims, so it means no classes for us. Which, of course, totally delights us high schoolers so much. So this morning, because my breakfast just wasn't satiating enough (or maybe it's just my foodie side taking over my appetite again), I decided to make myself some sandwich, as you can see from the photo below.
The so-called recipe for this sandwich is so so so easy, and kinda amateur-ish, I'll admit. All you need are two loaves of bread (whether it's white, wheat, or a bagel cut in half, it doesn't really matter much), some Nutella hazelnut spread, and sliced banana pieces (preferably thin slices). See? Anyone with a brain and a knife (for spreading and slicing purposes, don't get me wrong) can totally do this.
So when I took my first bite out of this, I was like, "Oh my gawsh, I can actually have a future as a recipe-inventor!", but then again, maybe it's just my adventurous side with food taking over. Or maybe it's just the fact that I've been addicted to Nutella forever and I wanted something to spice up my Nutella sandwich since I was bored with the usual Nutella + bread combo. But, oh well. Hey, I can dream, can't I? Alright, I seriously need to ask my mom for cooking lessons as soon as Christmas vacation comes. But for now...
`Till my next blog post, (hopefully, another one about food?)

Preppy and the Geek
Slant-striped Ensembles polo shirt, knitted Bayo vest, random-brand tie, Guess? jeans, Grendha espadrille sandals, gold Claire's cuff, gifted bag, and Dior glasses
For our film-making workshop last Friday, we had to do a mini-presentation for the mayor when she came by to talk to us about the music video for the city hymn. All of us were supposed to dress up as someone, or something, that is hardly “us”. So I decided to dress up as a cross between a teacher sans uniform and a preppy nerd, or at least that’s what I decided to pass for as. I chose to dress up like this because it’s not so hard to put together and so that I don’t have to take off my glasses during the mini-presentation. And in case you’re wondering how it went, it went totally great!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I had a good time for Halloween last Sunday. My older sister Marla and I accompanied my little brother Macu to go trick-or-treating. Actually, it was a last-minute decision of mine to come along with them, just because I found out that I had nothing else to do for Halloween afternoon, unless you count watching Halloween special episodes on TV as "productive way of spending a holiday that only happens once a year". And since I didn't really had much time to think of a costume, I decided to go as a HIPPIE. Mainly because, well, the costume wasn't hard to put together at all, of course. But still, I'm glad it turned out good.
This is me in my "costume" (which is actually more of an outfit, actually)
Folded & Hung blouse with eyelet bib, random-brand necklace, Topshop braided belt, thrifted vintage peasant skirt, Anagon Collection headband && Ipanema flip-flops
Macu in his Grim Reaper costume. Most of the little kids were scared of him.
Though there was this one girl in a house we stopped by, in a Princess Jasmine costume, whose dad said, "Look, it's Death", and then Macu took of his mask to say, "trick or treat", and then the little girl was like, "No, he's hot!" when she saw his face. (My initial reaction-thought was "Eww, he's so nawt", being the older sister who has seen him drool and snore while he sleeps, of course). I swear, she's only, like, around nine years old, and she just called another kid "hot" in front of her dad. But then again, she's just a kid, so I guess it's still normal in a way. Hahaha! The funny things that little kids these days say unexpectedly always amuse me.
A dad in a Russell (the kid from the Disney movie Up) costume. I like how he added even the little details such as the fat-boy-belly, colorful balloons, Wilderness Explorer badges (look closer at that white sash-thingy across his shirt and you'll see the circles, which are most likely supposed to be the badges without color), and even the smile itself. If only he were a few decades younger and chubbier, he can actually be the non-cartoon version of Russell! Haha!
I think he's supposed to be, like, a Neanderthal dude? I kinda wonder how he managed to stay in character the whole time. Whenever he says something, he uses this scary-pirate-who-wants-to-steal-your-gold tone of voice. The little kids' reaction were mostly scared or nervous (probably thinking that he's not actually just kidding around). I actually thought he was just a mannequin at first, because he was so still and not moving at all until you approach him for the candy.
This little girl in a Tigger costume is so adorable!
With a few decorations, this manse can actually pass for a haunted house, don't you think? The owners weren't home, though which made the house look spooky enough.
From left to right: Grim Reaper, Hippie Princess (okay, I totally just added that second word just because I didn't want the title to be a one-word, and besides, I can pass for one, right?), and Rachel Berry.
How was your Halloween, by the way? ;)
xoxo
